Price Lists

A price list is a named set of product prices, e.g. “Retail” or “Wholesale”. When you add a product to a document, Homwe fills in its price from the customer’s or vendor’s price list.

Go to Inventory → Price Lists.

Every organisation starts with one price list called Standard, which is the default. Customers and vendors without their own price list get prices from the default list.

To make a different list the default, open its … menu and choose Make Default. You’ll see “name is now your default price list.” You always have exactly one default, and the default list can’t be deleted.

  1. Click + New.
  2. Enter a Name, e.g. “Wholesale”. Each name must be unique.
  3. Click Create.
  1. Click a price list to open it.
  2. Click + Add price, pick a Product, and enter its Unit price. Zero is allowed.
  3. To change a price, choose Edit from the row’s menu. To take a product off the list, choose Remove.

Each product can appear once per list. Products that already have a price on the list don’t show in the Add price picker, so use Edit to change them.

Open the customer or vendor under Workspace → Business Entities, click Edit, and choose a Price list. Choose Default to use the default list. See Customers.

When you add a product to a document, Homwe looks for a price:

  1. in the customer’s or vendor’s own price list, then
  2. in the default price list.

If neither has a price, the unit price stays blank for you to type.

Homwe only fills in empty prices. Once a line has a price, whether you typed it or Homwe filled it in, it isn’t replaced.

Open the list’s … menu and choose Delete. Its prices are deleted with it. Documents you’ve already created keep their prices.

You can’t delete a price list that’s assigned to a customer or vendor. Switch them to another list first.

Permissions are given through access levels. Owners and Admins have all of them.
