Documents

Document settings control how your quotations, orders, invoices, and receipts look, when they’re due by default, and how they’re numbered.

Go to Settings → Documents. Make your changes, then click Save changes at the top. One click saves every section. If you leave the page without saving, your changes are lost.

The header appears at the top of your documents and their PDFs. A live preview shows how it will look.

Setting What it does
Logo Upload or remove your logo.
Show logo Show or hide the logo.
Show business address Show your organisation’s address.
Show letterhead text Show extra text under the address, such as registration or tax numbers.
Logo position Left, centre, or right.
Header text alignment Left, centre, or right.
Letterhead text The extra text itself.

Your organisation’s name, address, and any registrations marked “show on documents” come from Settings → Organisation.

Default due date offset (days) sets how many days after the issue date a document is due. The default is 14, and it can be anywhere from 0 to 365. You can still change the due date on each document. Changing this setting doesn’t affect existing documents.

Each document type gets its own number sequence. Leave the number blank when you create a document and Homwe uses the next number. If you type your own number, Homwe uses it as you entered it.

Group Types and default prefixes
Sales Documents Quotations SQUO, Orders SORD, Invoices SINV, Receipts SRCT
Purchase Documents Quotations PQUO, Orders PORD, Invoices PINV, Receipts PRCT
Other Documents RFQ RFQ, Job Card JC

Click Edit on a type to change:

  • Number prefix: up to 20 letters, digits, or underscores. Hyphens and spaces aren’t allowed. You can leave it blank to get numbers like 2026-0001.
  • Reset cadence:
    • Yearly starts again from 1 each year, e.g. SINV-2026-0001.
    • Continuous never resets, e.g. SINV-000001.

Click Apply, then Save changes.

Document numbers must be unique across all your document types. Automatic numbering skips any number that’s already taken, including ones you typed yourself.

You can give a single customer or vendor its own header, payment period, or numbering. Open them under Workspace → Business Entities and use the Settings tab. See Customers.

Permissions are given through access levels. Owners and Admins have all of them.

  • Header and due-date settings: the Settings permission for any one document type, e.g. Manage Sales Invoices Settings.
  • Numbering: that type’s own permission, e.g. Manage Purchase Orders Settings. RFQs need Manage RFQ Settings and job cards need Manage Job Card Settings.
